I find this so interesting. The hussle culture we I find this so interesting. The hussle culture we are living in today never ceases to try to convince us that it‘s all about setting goals, measuring progress, seeing the value of what you do in terms of achievements (symbolic or financial).

However most of the women I have spoken to, especially those working in the creative industry have said they went without a plan, trusting the process and “ going with the flow" and the results were as impressive.

Are you team strategy or team “flow” ?

It was a pleasure to interview the very special @a It was a pleasure to interview the very special @amira.behbehani, one of Kuwait‘s top artists and the mother of a dear friend of mine.

Amira held numerous exhibitions across the globe and committed to social causes that she addresses through her artwork.

Her Persian roots always peek through her works, as she says that her childhood spent in Shiraz is always a source of inspiration to her.

To the question of identity she retorts that many Arabs are mixtures of different roots and that should be embraced and perceived as a source of richness.

We often get lost in the tragedies our region has been facing for as long as we can remember, a dash of positivity and positive representation is what we need to move forward but mostly what future generations need to continue achieving great things.

Undoubtedly we all have our little (or big) troubles and worries, and I think it‘s important to remember that we might have the power to lessen them if we pay them less attention.

So just forget about them and hopefully they‘ll forget about you too

It’s not everyday that you get to meet the author of a book you’ve just put down, to extensively discuss the why and how and what’s next.

Set in Jaffa, Palestine in the 40s, the book is a powerful ode to an era we seldomly hear about, especially to those of us living in Europe.

In my conversation with Nadine, we discuss why it felt like a duty for her to write « oranges from Jaffa ».

We discuss everything from the role of the media in how Arabs are portrayed to the principles she lives by, the importance of financial independence for women and privacy in the age of instagram: her motto? « vivons cachés, vivons heureux » (let’s hide to live happily).
